Royal Chimney Sweep wants every visitor — including people who use assistive technology — to be able to read this site, get a quote, and book a service. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and California's Unruh Civil Rights Act.
What we've done
- Semantic HTML landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer) and a "skip to content" link on every page.
- Full keyboard operability — all menus, the FAQ accordion, and the quote form work without a mouse, with visible focus indicators.
- Text and interface colors checked against WCAG AA contrast ratios.
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images; decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers.
- Form fields with proper labels, and status messages announced to assistive technology.
- Animations are subtle and fully disabled for visitors who set "reduce motion" in their system preferences.
- Responsive layout that supports zoom up to 200% and small screens without loss of content.
Known limitations
- Photographs on the site are being updated over time; if any image lacks a useful description, tell us and we will fix it promptly.
- Third-party content we link to (for example, map services) may not meet the same standard.
